Former Eagle Pass Lady Eagles District 29-6A Most Valuable Player and pitching sensation Krystal De La Cruz is the consummate team player and a true role model for the youth of our community. She the winningest pitcher in the 26 year storied history of the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles softball program and also the only Lady Eagles pitcher to ever record 30 pitching victories in a single season. Krystal continued to excel inside the circle as a senior hurler for the NCAA Division I Louisiana Tech Lady Techsters and just finished a truly brilliant softball pitching career at the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional Tournament held this weekend.

The mighty C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball squad under the guidance of head baseball coach Heriberto Roiz and assistant coaches Rene Ramirez, Jesus Gomez, Domingo Lopez and Rolando Salinas traveled to Jourdanton, Texas on Thursday, May 9, 2019 to open their best two out of three series in a 7:00 PM matchup against the Boerne Champion Chargers the District 26-5A and bi-district champion sporting an overall season record of 28-5 while the Mavericks entered this contest with an overall season record of 20 wins with 11 losses and 1 tie in the first game of the best two out of three series for the UIL Region IV Class 5A Area Round Championship. Due to severe lightning in the vicinity near the baseball field Game 1 of this opening two out of three series had to be rescheduled for 1:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019 in Jourdanton, Texas.

Game 2 of this best of three series is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2019 at 5:00 PM at the SAISD Spring Sports Complex Field #1.

Game 2 of this best of three series is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019 with a 1:00 PM matchup at Krueger Baseball Field and if necessary Game 3 will start 30 minutes after Game 2 also at Krueger Baseball Field.
