Mavericks defeat the

Brackenridge Eagles 1 to 0

In Bi-District Round Opener

The District 28-5A third place seeded C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball team under the direction of head coach Heriberto Roiz and assistant coaches Rene Ramirez, Jesus Gomez, Domingo Lopez and Rolando Salinas with an overall season record of 18 wins 11 losses and 1 tie are opened their best two out of three series for the UIL Region IV Class 6A Bi-District series against the Brackenridge Eagles the District 27-5A second place representative with a 14-13 overall season record in a 7:00 PM bi-district series baseball diamond encounter on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center-Polo Moncada Baseball Field. Game 2 of this best of three series is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2019 at 5:00 PM at the SAISD Spring Sports Complex Field #1. Game 3 if necessary is scheduled to be played on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 1:00 PM in Jourdanton, Texas.

Mavericks second baseman Jared Roiz comes through with the game winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth to drive in Brandon Villasenor with the game winning run in support of starting and game winning pitcher Jorge Robledo who was masterful going the distance allowing no runs and scattered two harmless hits while striking out 9 batters in this game.

Game 2 of this best of three series is scheduled for Saturday, May 4, 2019 with a 1:00 PM matchup at Krueger Baseball field and if necessary Game 3 will start 30 minutes after Game 2 also at Krueger Baseball Field.
