Eagle Pass Sports Central is pleased to announce that the mighty Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League 14 year old all-stars have captured the 2019 Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament Championship in three straight games during the tournament held this past weekend at Moncada’s Baseball Field in the historic old Ft. Duncan area in Eagle Pass, Texas. The high powered 14 year old all-stars thus have earned themselves a berth in the upcoming Babe Ruth League World Series 14 year old division to be held on August 8-15, 2019 in Demopolis. Alabama. Alex Paniagua was the winning pitcher in the championship game hurling a brilliant No-Hitter. Eagle Pass first baseman Diego Martinez was selected the 2019 Southwest Regional Babe Ruth 14 year old division Tournament’s Most Valuable Player.

Eagle Pass Sports Central is proud to announce that the potent Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League 13-15 year old all-stars have made local history by earning a berth in the Babe Ruth League World Series for the third consecutive year after capturing 2019 Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament Championship in four straight dominating games during the tournament that was recently held in Pine Bluff, Arkansas The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League 13-15 year old all-stars thus have earned themselves a berth in the upcoming 2019 Babe Ruth, League 13-15 year old division World Series scheduled to begin on August 8, 2019 in Bismarck, North Dakota. Eddie Sepulveda was selected the Tournament’s Most Valuable Player at the Southwest Regional Tournament by the Tournament Directors. The Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League 13-15 year old all-stars outscored their four opponents by the whopping margin of 34 to 3 during the Southwest Regional Tournament.

The highly talented young Kaitlin Galvan the daughter of Mere and Erika Galvan recently culminated a truly brilliant four year career for the storied Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity softball program where she was a stellar four time District 29-6A all-district first team selection and finished her high school softball career as one of the all-time best and winningest pitchers in school history facing some truly high powered and quality competition.

Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League president and tournament director Morris Libson, Jr. has authorized Eagle Pass Sports Central to announce that the Eagle Pass Babe Ruth League will be hosting the 2019 Babe Ruth League 14 year old division Southwest Regional Baseball Tournament with the arrival of the teams that will be participating scheduled for Thursday, July 18, 2019 and tournament action to begin on Friday, July 19, 2019 at Moncada’s Baseball Park in the historic old Ft. Eagle Pass Sports Central is pleased to announce that the dynamic catcher-pitching duo of Brooke Diaz and Kaitlin Galvan have been selected to the 2019 Texas Sports Writers Association Class all-state softball team. Both of these highly talented student-athletes were nominated by Eagle Pass Sports Central sports writer Conrado Perez, Jr.

The standout Brooke Diaz who was one of the all-time true power hitters in the storied history of the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles softball program as well as a very clutch hitter with a high batting average and long ball hitter and one of the best RBI producer who only struck out once during her junior year and once during her senior year was selected as the lone all-state first team catcher.

The stellar Kaitlin Galvan who finished a brilliant four year varsity softball career as one of the all-time winningest pitchers in the storied history of Eagle Pass Lady Eagles softball that lead the district in both victories and strikeouts in 2019 was selected to the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A honorable mention all-state squad.

Both Brooke Diaz and Kaitlin Galvan were the consummate team players as well as true bonafide team leaders and a coach’s dream that gave you 110% effort on the field day in and day out and were excellent role models for the entire youth of our community that played the game the right way> Kaitlin Galvan and Brooke Diaz were the only two players from District 29-6A to be selected to the 2019 Texas Sports Writers Association Class 6A all-state softball team.

Eagle Pass Sports Central has been authorized by C.C. Winn Mavericks head football coach Eric Villasenor to proudly announce that C.C. Winn Mavericks’ senior linebacker Alex Garcia has been voted the VYPE High School Sports Magazine South Texas preseason Linebacker of the Year in a recently conducted statewide poll beating out numerous linebackers from the entire Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi as well as the Laredo area including several linebackers from class 6A.. Last season the talented young Alex Garcia was a vital cog in the Mavericks stingy, quick pursuing and hard hitting defense under the tutelage of Co-Head Defensive Coordinators Saul Salas and Rene Ramirez who fielded one of the premier defensive units not only in District 14-5A Division I but in the entire UIL Region IV as well that held the usually potent San Antonio Harlan Hawks to just 3 total points in their matchup as well as a phenomenal 6 total yards rushing in that game.

Eagle Pass Sports Central congratulates the young and talented Alex Garcia who is a very coachable young man and is an unselfish team player on your most deserving honor in being voted the VYPE High School Sports Magazine preseason South Texas Linebacker of the Year and we certainly wish you and the mighty C.C. C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball coach Heriberto Roiz has authorized Eagle Pass Sports Central to proudly announce that C.C. Winn Mavericks’ standout junior second baseman Jared Roiz has been selected to the elite Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 3rd team all-state squad. During this past season, Jared Roiz was instrumental in helping to lead the Mavericks varsity baseball team to a third place finish in District 28-5A as well as a bi-district championship title with a two game sweep over the San Antonio Brackenridge Eagles and a berth in the area finals. He was the only player from District 28-5A to be selected to the THSBCA all-state baseball team.
