Southwest Tournament

The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity softball team ventured to the Alamo City of San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, February 27, 2020 to compete in the Annual Southwest Lady Dragons Invitational Tournament, Things did not fair very well for the Lady Eagles in this tournament as they went winless in six games. Lack of consistent and timely hitting as well as horrendous and costly fielding and throwing errors plagued the Lady Eagles throughout this tournament.
GAME 1
The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles opened tournament action by squaring off against the Edison Lady Golden Bears who held the Lady Eagle to only three hits in this game with Paola Daniel tallying the only run for the Lady Eagles n the 3 to 1 loss.

GAME 2
Game two of the tournament pitted the Lady Eagles against the tournament’s host team the Southwest Lady Dragons in a near carbon copy of the first game with the Lady Eagles being held to only three hits and Southwest taking full advantage of five Lady Eagles errors to take the 7 to 2 victory over the Lady Eagles

GAME 3
Game three of the tournament had the Lady Eagles seemingly well on their way to notch their first victory of the tournament when they were pared up against the Cibolo-Steele Lady Knights taking a 5 to 2 lead to the bottom of the fifth behind the hitting of their three most consistent hitters early this season Romy Flores, Karyna Perez and Bianca Vielma but the Lady Knights countered with a four run production in the bottom of the fifth due to a pair of game costing errors to take the narrow 6 to 5 victory over the Lady Eagles

GAME 4
Game four saw the Lady Eagles quickly fall behind the Mac Arthur Lady Brahmas by the score of 6 to 0 before they mounted a mini comeback that fell just short as MacArthur escaped with the 6 to 4 victory.

In game five the Lady Eagles jumped out to a 3 to 1 lead after one inning of play but that proved to be the only offense they would muster in this game as they fell by the final score of 1 to 3

In their finale of the tournament the Lady Eagles were dominated by the Southwest Legacy Lady Titans who held the Lady Eagles scoreless and only allowed one base hit in the 10 to 0 loss to Southwest Legacy. The loss drops the Lady Eagles overall season record to two wins and eleven losses.
