Border Olympics Baseball Tourney

The C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball team under the guidance of head coach Heriberto Roiz and assistant coaches Rene Ramirez, Jesus Gomez, Rolando Salinas, Jr. and Domingo Lopez along with the Eagle Pass Eagles varsity baseball squad under the leadership of head coach Reynol Mendoza and assistant coaches Henry Silva and Chris Villa ventured to Laredo, Texas on Thursday, February 27, 2020 to compete in the elite three day 45 man team Border Olympics Baseball Tournament.

The Mavericks are scheduled to open play at the Border Olympics Tourney on Thursday, February 27, 2020 with an 11:15 PM matchup against Edcouch-Elsa at Slaughter Park followed by a 3:45 PM encounter against Laredo United at venerable Krueger Field. On Friday, February 28, 2020 the Mavericks resume tournament action with a 9:00 AM game against La Joya at Uni-Trade Stadium followed by a 1:30 PM contest against San Antonio Churchill at Veterans Baseball Park. In their fifth and final game of the Border Olympics Baseball Tournament the Mavericks will tangle with Corpus Christi Ray in an 11:15 diamond matchup at Uni-Trade Stadium.

The Eagles on the other hand are scheduled to open play at the Border Olympics Baseball Tournament on Thursday, February 27, 2020 with an 11:15 matchup against Corpus Christi Veterans followed by a 6:00 PM encounter against Cibolo-Steele at the United ISD Student Activity Center. The Eagles resume tournament action on Friday, February 28, 2020 with a 9:00 AM game against Austin High at the United ISD SAC followed by a 1:30 PM contest against SA FEAST at Benavides Baseball Field. The Eagles will close out tournament action on Saturday, February 29, 2020 with an 11:15 encounter at Slaughter Park.

Martinez #5, Luis Kancheff #4, Robert De La Garza #12, Juan Martinez #3, Efrain Estrada #13, Manuel Melchor #11, Izek Garza #1, Miguel A. Euresti #2 and manager Abel Vasquez.
