The Eagle Pass High School varsity boys track and field squad mentored by head coach Roger Olivas journeyed to Alice, Texas on Thursday, March 14, 2019 to compete in the Annual Hub City Relays. The Eagles finished fourth in the overall team competition with a total of 72 points.
The Eagles captured two gold medals, one silver medal and four bronze medals at the Hub City Relays. Earning the gold medals were Charlie Schuessler in the Shot Put with a winning toss of 47’ 9” and Sergio Hernandez in the 1600 Meter Run with a winning time of 4:36.91. Earning the silver medal was the 4x400 Meter Relay crew of Isaac Caballero, Allan Rodriguez, Oscar Mallen and anchored by Joshua Monsivais who placed second in that event with a time of 3:33.37. Garnering the bronze medals were Jerry Torres in the Shot Put with a heave of 46’ 10 ½”, Sebastian Villa in the 3200 Meter Run with a time of 10:28.94, Sergio Hernandez in the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:08.18 and Joshua Monsivais in the 300 Meter Hurdles with a time of 42.15.
