The District 29-6A tri-leading Eagle Pass Lady Eagles softball team hit the road on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 for a trip to Laredo, Texas to tangle with the Laredo Nixon Lady Mustangs in a 7:00 PM softball diamond encounter at the Laredo ISD Zachary Softball Complex. The would be more than enough cushion for the Eagles three year standout starting and eventual game winning pitcher Kaitlin Galvan who hurled four solid and dominating complete innings of work inside the circle allowing no runs scattered two harmless hits and struck out 8 batters to earn the pitching victory.

In the top of the fourth the Lady Eagles padded their lead with a pair of runs with Brooke Diaz leading off the frame with a walk and promptly stealing second, Alex Martinez also drew a walk with both Brooke Diaz and Alex Martinez stealing third and second respectively, Lorelei Morales brought Brooke Diaz home on a ground an RBI groundout, with two outs Lashay Reyes came through with ringing RBI double to drive in Alex Martinez to give the Lady Eagles a comfortable 9 to 0 lead.

In the top half of the fifth the Lady Eagles sealed the outcome of this contest exploding with a huge 12 run production on six base hits, 7 walks, one hit batman and Alex Martinez putting the exclamation point on the victory with a titanic grand slam homerun over the left centerfield fence as the Lady Eagles took a commanding 21 to 0 lead.

Alyssa Galvan took over the pitching duties in the bottom of the fifth striking out all three batters but the third batter was able to reach safely on a dropped third strike but the runner did not last long as the golden arm of stellar catcher Brooke Diaz quickly gunned her down at first as she strayed off the bag on the next pitch to end the game.
