The District 29-6A co-leading and playoff bound Eagle Pass Eagles varsity football team mentored by head football coach Tom Gonzalez will venture to Del Rio, Texas on Friday, November 10, 2017 to culminate their regular and district season with a key 7:30 PM matchup against their long time and oldest rival the Del Rio Rams at Walter Levermann-Rams Stadium.

At stake for the visiting Eagle Pass Eagles is at least a district co-championship if the Eagles defeat the Rams and the Southwest Dragons defeat the South San Bobcats in their matchup.  Should the South San Bobcats upset the Dragons and Eagles victory over Del Rio would give the Eagles the outright District 29-6A championship.  A Del Rio upset over the Eagles and a Southwest victory over South San would give the Southwest Dragons the outright district crown.

The visiting Eagles will venture into this matchup sporting an overall season record of 7-2 and a district co-leading mark of 5-1.  The home standing Rams will enter this game with an overall season record of 2-7 and a district mark of 2-4 but rest assure whenever these two teams meet on the gridiron records are thrown out the window. Del Rio does however lead the all-time series against the Eagle Pass Eagles 72-18 with 5 ties.
