The C.C. Winn High School varsity boys and varsity girls cross country teams under the guidance of head coach Apolinar T. Garza journeyed to College Station, Texas on Saturday, September 23,2017 to participate in the high caliber Texas A&M University Cross Country Invitational Meet, The youthful Lady Mavericks varsity squad finished 26th in the overall team competition with a total of 795 points while the varsity boys squad came in 19th out of 38 teams in the overall team competition with a total of 509 points. Yosio Limon spearheaded the varsity boys’ squad crossing the finish line in 39th place individually with a time of 17:04 while Karina Rodriguez led the varsity girls team finishing in 126th place individually with a time of 22:55. All of the Mavericks and Lady Mavericks cross country runners continue to improve their respective times in preparation for the upcoming District 29-5A Cross Country Meet,
