First Team All-District Squad

With all four District 28-5A boys’’ basketball teams having been finally eliminated from the post season playoffs Eagle Pass Sports Central has been authorized by C.C. Winn Mavericks boys basketball head coach Paulo Valero to announce the 2019-2020 District 28-5A all-district boys basketball selections as chosen by the respective district head basketball coaches during their annual post regular season meeting.

Leading the way for the local contingent was senior point guard Jairo Maldonado #11 who was selected to the all-district first team having averaged 18 points per game this season with 5 rebounds per game with 3 assists per game and 2.5 steals per game. Teammate Guillermo Moe Gaytan #23 was chosen to the all-district second team having averaged 12 points per game with 7 rebounds per game along with 3 assists per game and 2 steals per game. Earning a berth on the honorable mention squad were Alex Rodriguez #3, Mario Gonzalez #35 and Eric Sanchez #1. Selected to the prestigious all-academic squad were Eric Sanchez #1, Jairo Maldonado #11 and Chris Hernandez #24
