C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball coach Heriberto Roiz has authorized Eagle Pass Sports Central to proudly announce that C.C. Winn Mavericks’ standout junior second baseman Jared Roiz has been selected to the elite Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association 3rd team all-state squad. During this past season, Jared Roiz was instrumental in helping to lead the Mavericks varsity baseball team to a third place finish in District 28-5A as well as a bi-district championship title with a two game sweep over the San Antonio Brackenridge Eagles and a berth in the area finals. He was the only player from District 28-5A to be selected to the THSBCA all-state baseball team.

The highly talented and very coachable Jared Roiz was a unanimous first team all-district selection this past season as well as an all-academic selection. Jared Roiz had a sensational .469 batting average for the season on 39 hits out of 83 times at bat, belted 5 doubles, 4 triples, 2 homeruns and had 27 RBI’s, struck out only 6 times all season long drew 12 bases on balls and had 20 stolen bases. As a pitcher he hurled 36 innings struck out 41 batters with a record of 4 wins with only 1 loss and had a very respectable 2.56 E.R.A. Jared Roiz is truly the consummate team player willing to do whatever is expected from him for the betterment of the team both offensively and defensively and is an excellent role model for the entire youth of our community.
