Lady Eagles geared to battle the
La Joya Lady Coyotes
In Bi-District Round

The high powered and potent undefeated District 29-6A champion Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity softball team who are currently ranked 25th in the State of Texas in Class 6A with an overall season record of 23-7 will venture to La Joya, Texas on Friday, April 26, 2019 to open their best two out of three series for the UIL Region IV Class 6A Bi-District series against the La Joya Lady Coyotes the District 30-6A fourth place representative with an overall season record of 18-14 in a 7:00 PM softball diamond encounter.
The talent laden Lady Eagles will enter this best two out of three series led by their stellar starting pitcher Kaitlin Galvan who has been one of the winningest and top pitchers in the 26 year storied history of the Lady Eagles softball program during her brilliant four year high school softball career and currently sports one of the best pitching records not only in District 29-6A but as well as in the entire UIL Region IV and the State of Texas with a record of 20 wins with only 5 losses and led the team as well as the entire district with a total of 112 strikeouts with an E.R.A of 2.18.
The Lady Eagles who field one of the all-time best hitting and scoring squads in their 26 year storied history will be spearheaded by their future NCAA Division I catcher Brooke Diaz who leads the team as well as the entire district with a .613 batting average followed by Leslie Martinez .488, Alex Martinez .477, Lashay Reyes .438 Alyssa Lara .424, Paola Daniel .387, Lorelei Morales.377, Kaitlin Galvan .368 and Kaylynne Ruiz .355 batting average. During district play the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles outscored their district opponents by a phenomenal margin of 147 runs to 12. In the power hitting department Alex Martinez leads the team as well as the district with 6 homeruns followed by Brooke Diaz with 4 and Alyssa Lara with 2. (*Stats courtesy of MaxPreps)
