Texas High School football is in the air here on the local front. For the first time in the history of their program the mighty C.C. Winn Mavericks football squad under the direction of head football coach Eric Vilasenor and staff have started their Spring training football session bright and early on Tuesday, April 23, 2019.
“We will have 18 practices within 34 calendar days as per UIL rules. Our Spring game is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, May 23rd at 5;00 PM at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Cozel Foster-Veterans Memorial Stadium. Spring Ball will allow us to evaluate our kids and experiment certain things we would like to try. I believe this will help our team heading into the summer months. We return 8 starters on offense and 5 starters on defense. We are extremely excited about our 2019 Football team.” stated Mavericks head football coach Eric Villasenor.
