This cushion was more than enough lead for the Lady Eagles standout starting and game winning pitcher who once again was absolutely brilliant inside the pitching circle with a dominating four scoreless complete innings of work scattering just five harmless hits, allowed no runs, issued no base on balls and struck out four batters to earn the victory with one inning of relief help from Alyssa Galvan.

The high flying Lady Eagles brought an early conclusion to this contest erupting with six more runs in the top of fifth and final inning of this game to enforce the 10-run rule on the Del Rio Queens with Lorelei Morales stroking a one out single, with two outs Lashay Reyes connected with an RBI double to drive in Lorelei Morales, Alyssa Lara followed with a single, pinch hitter Paola Daniel came through with an RBI single to bring home Lashay Reyes, Kaitlin Galvan also connected with an RBI single to bring home Alyssa Lara, Leslie Martinez followed with an RBI single to bring home Paola Daniel, Brooke Diaz belted an RBI to drive in courtesy runner Emily Rodriguez.  Leslie Martinez and Brooke Diaz successfully pulled off a double steal with Diaz stealing second and Martinez stealing home to give the Lady Eagles an 11 to 0 lead over the Queens.

With the game well in hand relief pitcher Alyssa Galvan was given one inning of work inside the circle and she managed to retire the side in order on a ground out and a pair of strikeouts.  The District 29-6A champion Eagle Pass Lady Eagles will be venturing into the post for the 21st time in their 26 year old storied history as well as their 17th consecutive year.  This season’s district title marks the 15th all-time over all district crown to go along with two district co-championship in their illustrious 26 year program
