The C.C. Winn Mavericks varsity baseball team mentored by head baseball coach Herberto Roiz and assistant coaches Rene Ramirez, Jesus Gomez, Domingo Lopez and Rolando Salinas ventured to Somerset, Texas on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 to battle against the Somerset Bulldogs in a vital 7:00 PM district baseball diamond matchup seeking to keep their chances alive for a potential playoff berth.

The Mavericks however suffered a setback as they fell by the final score of 2 to 0 despite the fact that the Mavericks out hit the Bulldogs 7 to 3 but just could not manage to bring any runners home. Somerset scored the only two runs of this game in the bottom of the first and managed to hang on to that lead the rest of the way.
