The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity girls’ basketball team under the tutelage of head coach Ruben Besa and assistant coaches Arturo Gonzalez, Jesus Juarez and Norman Carreon entertained the Laredo Nixon Lady Mustangs on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in a 7:30PM District 29-6A hoops encounter at the Eagle Pass High School gym.
Although the Lady Eagles lost the game by the final score of 50 to 28, the highlight of the night was turned in by standout junior point guard Paula Hernandez who entered the game with 994 career points. Paula Hernandez led the Eagle Pass Lady Eagles with a team high total of 17 points to reach the magical mark of 1000 career points scored and she still has three more games remaining this season and all of next year as well.
