While most football district titles in the State of Texas are decided until the final week of the season, District 29-6A could very well be the exception when the current 8th ranked team in Region IV Class 6A the mighty Eagle Pass Eagles under the direction of head coach Tom Gonzalez venture to Laredo, Texas on Friday, September 28, 2018 to kickoff their quest for the district crown against the pre-season favorite the Laredo United Longhorns with their relentless aerial show in a 7:30 PM marquee matchup at the Laredo United ISD Student Activity Center.

This game could have all the makings of a third round playoff matchup when these two teams collide out on the gridiron with probably the district title already on the line. The mighty Eagle Pass Eagles will enter this district opening gridiron encounter sporting an unblemished overall season record of 4-0 while the home standing Longhorns will come in sporting an overall season mark of 2-2.

This key district high school football game should produce some interesting matchups with the likes of the Eagle Pass Eagles double-edge sword “War Eagle” offense battling against the Laredo United Longhorns defensive unit and the featured attraction of the evening will feature the United Longhorns pass happy offense tangling with the Eagle Pass Eagles stout, aggressive very fast and hard hitting “Land Sharks” defensive units one of the premier defensive units in the entire Region IV Class 6A.
