PGF Girls National Softball Tourney

Brooke Diaz .462 average in Qualifying Tourney

The high powered and talent laden Texas Blaze 18UBonola girls softball team considered to be one of if not the best select travel softball team in the State of Texas have earned themselves a berth in the prestigious and truly elite Premier Girls Fast pitch National Championship Tournament scheduled to be held on July 21, 2018 to July 27, 2018 in Huntington Beach & Irvine, California where only the very best select travel softball teams in the entire Nation will be competing for the title. Literally all of the NCAA Division I head softball coaches and scouts will be present at this high caliber tournament.

 

The standout and highly talented Eagle Pass Lady Eagles starting catcher and Brooke Diaz who has verbally committed to further her scholastic and athletic career at Louisiana Tech University upon graduating next year just culminated a truly sensational junior year for the Lady Eagles softball program and is an integral member and one of their top hitters and RBI producers of the well renowned Texas Blaze 18U Bonola squad. During the recent qualifying tournament held in Sugarland, Texas young Brooke Diaz continued to blister the ball with a very productive output going 6 for 13 at the plate for a.462 batting average.

During the qualifying tournament held at Sugarland Texas the Texas Blaze 18U Bonola squad had to work their way out of the loser’s bracket after dropping their opening game 10 to 4 at the hands of the Texas Premier squad but rebounded in their second match by defeating DS Voss 2 to 1 then defeated Centex Buzz 4 to 2, followed by a victory over Mizuno Elite and earned their berth at the Premier Girls Fast pitch National Tourney with a 3 to 0victory over the Illusions team.

The Texas Blaze 18U Bonola squad is mostly comprised by players from the San Antonio area with one player each from New Braunfels, Bastrop, Buda Hays and Eagle Pass. The members include Ally Oyanguren, Bari Christian, Briana Arredondo, Brooke Diaz (Eagle Pass), Carissa Vasquez, Denay Griffin, Erykah Guerrero, Genises Rodriguez, Hannah Kinkade, Jalissa Alicea, Kailley Brown, Kiersten Licea, Malea Rodriguez, Maxine Valdez, Nicolette Ramirez, and Sydney Belvin.
