The power hitting and highly talented Eagle Pass Lady Eagles’ varsity girls’ softball team ventured to the Alamo City of San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, February 3, 2018 for a double header scrimmage against Alamo Heights. The Lady Eagles played flawless defense behind the brilliant and stingy pitching of fire balling Kaitlin Galvan who hurled a No-Hitter in game one and Leenette Krezdorn who tossed a two hit shutout in game two. The highly touted Lady Eagles also put on quite a hitting exhibition in both games with the Lady Eagles winning the first game by the final score of 15 to 0 as well as the second game by the final score of 9 to 0.
GAME 1
It did not take the Lady Eagles very long to showcase their powerful lineup and set the tone for this game as the power hitting multi-talented starting catcher Brooke Diaz blasted a one out solo shot over the fence. In the top of the second inning Brooke Diaz showed her athletic ability by stroking a shot off the right centerfield fence which enabled her to circle the bass for a two out inside the park homerun. The Lady Eagles unleashed a 18 hit barrage in support of their standout starting pitcher Kaitlin Galvan as she was simply dominant inside the circle inside hurling a No-Hitter against Alamo Heights as the Lady Eagles took game one by the final score of 13 to 0.

GAME 2
In the second game of the their scrimmage against Alamo Heights Lady Eagle Leslie Martinez led off the game with a solid double, Heather Ruiz followed with an RBI triple to bring home Leslie Martinez, Brooke Diaz connected with a ringing RBI double to drive in Heather Ruiz, Lorelei Morales stroked an RBI single to tally Brooke Diaz to give the Lady Eagles the early 3 to 0 lead in this game.
In the top of the second the Lady Eagles padded their lead with a pair of runs with Leslie Martinez and Heather Ruiz connecting with back to back single, Brooke Diaz continued to swing a hot bat at the plate by blasting a two out two RBI triple to drive in both Leslie Martinez and Heather Ruiz to give the Lady Eagles a 5 to 0 lead.
The Lady Eagles then tacked on two more runs in the third and a pair of runs in the fifth inning highlighted by Janessa Garza’s solo homerun to give the Lady Eagles the 8 to 9 victory in game two and a sweep of the two game scrimmage with Leenette Krezdorn hurling a two hit shutout in game two.
