Lady Eagles shut out

Laredo Nixon 7 to 0

The Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity softball team culminated their Spring Break softball diamond schedule on Friday, March 13, 2020 by hosting the Laredo Nixon Lady Mustangs in a 7:00 PM District 29-6A matchup at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Softball Field.

The Lady Eagles dented the scoreboard first with a three run production in the home half of the sixth inning with Natalie Flores leading off the frame with a single, Karyna Perez drew a walk, Alyssa Galvan laid down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners to second and third, Iliana Luna also drew a walk to load the bases, Bianca Vielma was issued a base on balls which brought home Natalie Flores with the first run of this game, Paola Daniel then stepped up to the plate and stroked a two RBI single to drive in Karyna Perez and Iliana Luna giving the Lady Eagles a 3 to 0 lead in this game.

In the bottom of the fourth the Lady Eagles sealed the eventual outcome of this game with a big four run out put with Alyssa Galvan leading off the frame with a walk, Iliana Luna connected with a single, with two outs Paola Daniel loaded the base with a walk, Lashay Reyes then cleared the bases with a fence rattling three RBI double to bring home Alyssa Galvan, Iliana Luna and Paola Daniel, Kaylynne Ruiz followed with an RBI double to bring home Lashay Reyes giving the Lady Eagles a 7 to 0 lead.

This proved to be more than enough cushion or Lady Eagles starting and game winning pitcher Alyssa Galvan who allowed no runs on only two harmless hits to earn the victory.
