Eagle Pass Eagles head baseball coach Reynol Mendoza has authorized Eagle Pass Sports Central to announce that two-sport standout Rey Rey Mendoza has been selected to play at the upcoming 46th Annual Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-star game to be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Dell Diamond Baseball Stadium in Round Rock, Texas. Out of 300 nominations only a total of 42 players were selected to play in this high caliber all-star game.
The talented two-sport standout Rey Rey Mendoza who has signed his national letter of intent to continue his academic and athletic career with the NCAA Division I University of Houston Cougars under the direction of head baseball coach Todd Whitting had a truly outstanding four year varsity baseball career for the Eagle Pass Eagles storied baseball program. Some of the accolades that he earned during his four year career at Eagle Pass High School include;

During his stellar four year career at Eagle Pass High School Rey Rey Mendoza belted a total of 127 base hits, scored 79 runs, blasted 8 homeruns, had 73 RBI’s, 30 stolen bases and had a four year batting average of .380. His four year pitching stats include a record of 16 wins and 15 losses with 190 innings pitched allowed `71 hits, 113 runs with only 65 of those runs being earned, recorded 219 strikeouts and issued 99 bases on balls with an E.R.A. of 2.53 with his best being a 1.28 E.R.A during his senior year.
