After 10 straight road games to start the season, the Eagle Pass Eagles under the leadership of head coach Reynol Mendoza and assistant coaches Henry Silva and Chris Villa finally came home for their first home game of the 2018 Texas High School baseball as to inaugurate their respective District 29-6A season by hosting the perennially tough Laredo Alexander Bulldogs in a 7:30 PM matchup at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Polo Moncada Baseball Field.

One of the two premier softball diamond matchups in District 29-6A took center stage on Tuesday. March 6. 2018 when the high powered and potent Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity girls’ softball team sporting a district mark of 1-1 hosted the equally talented and current district tri-leading San Antonio South San Lady Bobcats sporting a district mark of 2-0 in a key 7:00 PM matchup at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center Softball Field with the ever present Loyal Legion of Lady Eagles followers in attendance ready to witness this clash of two of South Texas’s premier softball teams. This matchup however turned into a one sided affair as the visiting Lady Bobcats silenced the usually potent Lady Eagles bats to only three harmless hits and kept them scoreless on the night.

The Eagle Pass Eagles varsity boys’ baseball team under the direction of head coach Reynol Mendoza and assistant coaches Henry Silva and Chris Villa ventured to Smithson Valley to participate in the high caliber 2018 Comal ISD Baseball Tournament. The Eagles played a total of five games at this high powered tournament and although they came out on the short end of the scoreboard in all five games two of those losses were by only one run. But the experience that they attained at this tournament will certainly help them to get ready for the upcoming District 29-6A baseball diamond battles.

The high powered Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity girls’ softball team entertained the perennially tough Laredo Alexander Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in a 7:00PM District 29-6A softball diamond opener at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center softball field in front of a good size crowd in attendance including the Loyal Legion of Lady Eagles followers. In a true nail biter the Eagles Pass Lady Eagles fell short of a potential comeback as the visiting Laredo Alexander Lady Bulldogs took a hard fought 7 to 6 victory over the Lady Eagles. Errors proved quite costly in this game.
