Iracheta, Jr. and assistant coaches Tony Martinez, Johnny Hernandez, Corina Escontrias and Fred Paniagua hosted the current District 28-5A leading Medina Valley Lady Panthers in a key 5:00 PM district softball diamond matchup at the Eagle Pass ISD Student Activity Center softball field with the famed Maverick Nation in attendance ready to cheer and support their beloved Lady Mavericks.

The high powered and red hot hitting C.C. Winn Lady Mavericks varsity softball team under the leadership of head softball coach J.J. Iracheta, Jr. and assistant coaches Tony Martinez, Johnny Hernandez. Corina Escontrias and Fred Paniagua ventured to Uvalde, Texas on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 for a key 7:00 PM softball diamond matchup against the always tough Uvalde Lobos. Both the visiting Lady Mavericks and home standing Lobos ventured into this encounter sporting an identical district record of 2-1. This district matchup proved to be another historic game as Lady Mavericks starting and game winning pitcher Ariana Soto would wind up tossing a no-hitter and supported by a 13 run production as well as a 10-hit assault by the mighty red hot hitting Lady Mavericks.

Mavericks varsity baseball team under the leadership of Head baseball coach Heriberto Roiz and assistant coaches Rene Ramirez, Jesus Gomez, Rolando Salinas and Domingo Lopez ventured to Floresville, Texas on Tuesday March 5, 2019 to resume District 28-5A baseball diamond action with a 7:00 PM matchup against the home standing Floresville Tigers. This key contest proved to be quite a memorable night as Mavericks ace hurler Brandon Villaseñor hurled a complete game no-hitter allowing no runs and no hits walking only two batters on the night and two hit batsmen while striking out a whopping 15 batters in this game.

Once again my ever growing City of Eagle Pass, Texas local athletic history record book added yet another major milestone chapter on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 when for the first time ever in C.C. Winn High School athletic history a rare feat was accomplish by the talented varsity girls junior softball pitcher Ariana Soto and C.C. Winn Mavericks senior varsity baseball pitcher Brandon Villaseñor who both recorded no-hitters on the same day by the respective scores of 13 to 0 and 1 to 0.

The mighty Eagle Pass Lady Eagles varsity girls’ softball team headed East on Hwy 90 on Thursday, February 28, 2019 for a trip to Seguin, Texas to compete in the truly high powered 2019 Seguin Lady Matadors Invitational Softball Tournament where they would be facing-off against some truly high caliber softball programs in this three-day Texas High School softball tournament. The Lady Eagles won 4 out of their 6 games at the tournament but did manage to put on quite a power hitting display throughout the tournament to improve their overall season record to 11 wins with 7 losses.

The Eagles went 3 and 2 in this tournament to make their season record 8 wins 3 losses and 1 tie.
