On the baseball diamond he was simply one of the all-time best high school baseball players in the storied Eagle Pass Eagles high school baseball history as a pitcher and outfielder where he was one of the premier hitters in Region IV hitting for a high average, had a very strong throwing arm and had real good speed on the base paths. He was an all-district selection during his sophomore, junior and senior yeas culminating a banner senior year with a remarkable 34 game hitting streak and was selected to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state first team as an outfielder. He was coached by three different head baseball coaches during his high school varsity basebally career Jesse Suarez, Mario Barrett and Ruben Lozano with the assistant coach being Conrado Perez, Jr. for all three of those head baseball coaches.

Heriberto Roiz began his teaching career in 2004 as a Physical Education teacher at Memorial Jr. High School.
